What information can websites see about me?
Without any login or permission, websites can see your IP, approximate location, network, browser, device characteristics and more. See the full list.
From your connection
Every request carries your public IP. From it a site can estimate your country, region, city, ISP, ASN and whether you are on a residential, mobile or datacenter network. Request headers add your browser's user agent, preferred languages and accepted formats.
From JavaScript
Scripts can read screen and window size, device pixel ratio, time zone, locale, CPU thread count, approximate memory, touch support, installed fonts, graphics hardware, and rendering differences via canvas, WebGL and audio processing.
None of this needs a permission prompt. Permissions are only required for things like precise GPS location, camera, microphone and notifications.
What this site does with it
Browser signals are computed in your browser and shown to you. Fingerprints are not sent to or stored on the server during a normal visit. The server sees what every server sees: your IP and request headers, which it uses to answer and then discards.
